Trailers For Movies Coming Out Today

Friday, November 21st, 2008

Hey everyone,

Here’s a couple of trailers for two cool movies coming out today.

BOLT

Here’s what imdb.com said about this movie:

  • “For super-dog BOLT (voice of John Travolta), every day is filled with adventure, danger and intrigue at least until the cameras stop rolling. When the star of a hit TV show is accidentally shipped from his Hollywood soundstage to New York City, he begins his biggest adventure yet a cross-country journey through the real world. Armed only with the delusions that all his amazing feats and powers are real, and with the help of two unlikely traveling companions: a jaded, abandoned housecat named Mittens (voice of Susie Essman) and a TV-obsessed hamster in a plastic ball named Rhino, Bolt discovers he doesnt need superpowers to be a hero.”
  • Also coming out today is TWILIGHT.

    And, from imdb.com:

  • “Bella Swan has always been a little bit different. Never one to run with the crowd, Bella never cared about fitting in with the trendy, plastic girls at her Phoenix, Arizona high school. When her mother remarried and Bella chooses to live with her father in the rainy little town of Forks, Washington, she didn’t expect much of anything to change. But things do change when she meets the mysterious and dazzlingly beautiful Edward Cullen. For Edward is nothing like any boy she’s ever met. He’s nothing like anyone she’s ever met, period. He’s intelligent and witty, and he seems to see straight into her soul. In no time at all, they are swept up in a passionate and decidedly unorthodox romance - unorthodox because Edward really isn’t like the other boys. He can run faster than a mountain lion. He can stop a moving car with his bare hands. Oh, and he hasn’t aged since 1918. Like all vampires, he’s immortal. That’s right - vampire. But he doesn’t have fangs - that’s just in the movies. And he doesn’t drink human blood, though Edward and his family are unique among vampires in that lifestyle choice. To Edward, Bella is that thing he has waited 90 years for - a soul mate. But the closer they get, the more Edward must struggle to resist the primal pull of her scent, which could send him into an uncontrollable frenzy. Somehow or other, they will have to manage their unmanageable love. But when unexpected visitors come to town and realize that there is a human among them Edward must fight to save Bella? A modern, visual, and visceral Romeo and Juliet story of the ultimate forbidden love affair - between vampire and mortal.”
  • If you happen to catch either of these flicks, leave us a comment and let us know what you thought. :-)

Colbert’s Open Challenge To Barack Obama

    Friday, November 14th, 2008

Stephen Colbert, fresh off of the news that he lost the Presidential election in the Marvel Universe to Barack Obama, has issued a challenge to our President-elect. He wants Obama to come on his show. And to persuade him, he’s offering a pretty nice prize.

See, Colbert did a little searching on the series of tubes we all like to call the “Internet”, and he discovered that Obama is a comic collector. So Colbert is offering a copy of the variant cover of Amazing Spider-Man # 573 that recreates the cover of Amazing Fantasy # 15 but replaces Spider-Man with Colbert, and shows him rescuing none other than Spidey himself. But wait, there’s more! The issue will be a one-of-a-kind collectable item that is signed by Colbert and Marvel Editor-In-Chief and cover artist Joe Quesada. Pretty cool, huh?

For the full story, please take a look at this video from The Colbert Report.

    Colbert Loses ?!?

    Thursday, November 6th, 2008

In a dramatic turn of events, the Daily Bugle has admitted that they made a mistake in declaring Stephen Colbert the winner of the 2008 Presidential Election.  Here’s the new, corrected headline:

When Marvel Editor-In-Chief, Joe Quesada, was questioned about this heinous mistake, his reply was a flippant: “We completely forgot the Marvel Universe reflects what happens in the real world…Ooops, our bad.”

    ‘Dollhouse’ Trailer

    Thursday, November 6th, 2008

Have you heard about the new show coming from Joss Whedon?  It’s called Dollhouse, it stars Eliza Dushku, and here’s the show’s premise via Wikipedia:

“In Dollhouse, Dushku plays a young woman named Echo, a member of a group of people known as “Actives” or “Dolls.” The Dolls have had their personalities wiped clean so they can be imprinted with any number of new personas, including memory, muscle memory, skills, and language, for different assignments. They’re then hired out for particular jobs, crimes, fantasies, and occasional good deeds. On missions, Actives are monitored internally (and remotely) by Handlers. In between tasks, they are mind-wiped into a child-like state and live in a futuristic dormitory/laboratory, a hidden facility nicknamed “The Dollhouse”. The story follows Echo, who begins, in her mind-wiped state, to become self-aware.

Sounds cool, huh?  Here’s a trailer for the show.  Let us know what you think.
